After a break of 3 years, the London mayor, Sadiq Khan’s free annual Diwali event was celebrated in colorful spirits at Trafalgar Square in London on Sunday, 9th October 2022.
Sadiq khan said, “Diwali on the Square is always special as Londoners and visitors of all ages come together to celebrate the Festival of Lights, with a glorious blend of music, culture, food, and art.”
An assortation of Indian food stalls serving traditional and fusion, dance, yoga and meditation workshops, sari and turban tying, henna and face painting were the highlights of the celebration.
The festivities began with 200 dancers in the main square, followed by stunning cultural performances from London’s Punjabi, Gujarati, and Hindu communities.
During one of the Garba cultural group performances, a team of talented dancers chose Monalisa Sarees for their dance costumes. They adorned beautiful blue and yellow Chaniya-cholis, which depicted a true Navratri vibe.
It was an honor for our brand to be chosen for such a prestigious event. The dancers flaunted our sarees perfectly and it was exciting to see them in action.
This year’s festival theme ‘In the joy of other lies our own’ was highly relevant for us as we were glad to provide our products to enhance the joy and beauty of the celebration.
